On Thursday, January 8, 2026, Shelbyville Middle School welcomed county rival Triton Central for an exciting night of 7th and 8th grade boys basketball. With a standing-room-only crowd filling the gym, the atmosphere was electric as both teams competed with intensity and sportsmanship. The 7th grade contest was a hard-fought defensive battle from start to finish. Despite a strong effort by Shelbyville, Triton Central edged out a narrow 21–18 victory. The 8th grade game followed with the same high energy, as Shelbyville took control early and earned a convincing 51–25 win. Beyond the action on the court, the evening carried special meaning as both schools teamed up to bring back the Rivalry for Riley fundraiser in support of Riley Children’s Hospital. Thanks to the collaboration between Shelbyville and Triton Central, along with the generosity of fans in attendance, an impressive $1,500 was raised for this great cause. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our student-athletes and helped make the night a success both competitively and philanthropically. It was truly a memorable evening of basketball, community, and giving back.
